Fans For Christ (often referred to as FFC) is a group of Christians who are fans of entertainment generally considered to be nerdy or geeky. Sci-Fi, fantasy, anime/cartoons, games of all kinds (video, board, and card), comic books, superheroes, and horror are some of our most common. We profess Christ above all fandoms and bond over our enjoyment of geeky entertainment.
We look to the Apostle’s Creed for our statement of faith.
The deep answer is that we are all the church. FFC, however, is not a church in the sense that we have one location where we meet regularly. We exist primarily on the internet and at fan conventions. We do host Sunday church services at cons whenever we can.
All of them. We have members from a number of Protestant denominations as well as Catholics. Note that the Apostles Creed was written when there was only 1 church. In the creed “catholic” is lowercase indicating the original meaning of “all encompassing.”
Not at all. We have been known to have atheist members in the past. As long as you understand that the leadership will follow and lead according to our statement of faith, and you can discuss opposing viewpoints in a respectful manner, you are welcome.
To be a part of our conversations or get to know us better simply join us on social media or come find our table at a con. Our main communication hub is Facebook, where we have both a public page and a private group. To get involved with specific events, watch for social media posts about opportunities whenever help is needed. We love having new people!
“Our con attendance depends entirely on the ability of members to attend. FFC as an organization does not have a budget to send people to cons, so we go to cons that our volunteers are already attending and are willing to give up some of their time there for the sake of the ministry. We have a consistent presence at Dragon Con in Atlanta , GA because we have numerous members who attend regularly and the con let’s us have a fan table and hold a church service. But as time and finances allow we would love to attend more events!”
We are most active on Facebook and have a social group there. But you can also join our Discord Group and follow us on Instagram and X/Twitter. We also have a YouTube channel with videos from almost every church service we’ve held plus a few other fun events
